First Time at #FOLDFestival 📚🔥 I finally attended the Festival of Literary Diversity—right in my own backyard in downtown Brampton 🌆. No excuses this time. And wow, I’m so glad I showed up.
Since 2016, #FOLD has been doing the work—making space for Black, Indigenous, South Asian, Middle Eastern, and other “othered” voices in publishing ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿.
One standout moment? Sitting in on Amal Elsana Alh’jooj’s session. Her story as an Arab Muslim woman navigating feminism and power 🧕🏽🌍 blew my mind—and expanded my heart. It reminded me exactly why this festival matters.
🎤 FOLD’s mission is loud and clear: Amplify. Represent. Challenge. Shift. And trust me—it delivers.
From panels like The Sht No One Tells You About Writing* 💬, to AI in Publishing 🤖, to Success in Self-Publishing 🚀—I left every session feeling sharper and more aware.
When I started writing, I thought it was just about the book. 📖Now I see it’s also about navigating systems, knowing the business, and pushing through barriers related to race, identity, gender, sexuality and ability.

FOLD didn’t just teach me—it changed me. I’m thinking differently now, which will lead to me writing differently as well.
If you're a writer who feels unseen or unheard, FOLD is where you need to be.A weekend well spent? 💯A writer forever changed? No doubt about it.!!!!!
